Fun in Valley Green

Since our return from AZ it has been nice to get back to the "home field". Luke and I went for a nice ride and found a large tree down. I have been on some good solo rides while enjoying a recent run of great weather. Even Meg and Mommy got in on the act! Everybody loves Valley Green!

Phoenix Mountain Preserve

My second ride with Yuri was in the PMP. I drove down to Phoenix to meet up with Yuri and we made our way to the Preserve. The riding was fast and fun. The views of the city were great for a visitor like me. Yuri, thank you so much for the rides. I really had a great time!

Lake Pleasant

Beautiful man-made lake in Arizona. This water will eventually make its way to the city of Phoenix.

AZ Donut Ride

I took Luke and Noah for a bike ride around Anthem on one of the beautiful mornings. The mornings in AZ is really special. The temps were in the mid-50's with low humidity. Perfect for any outdoor activity. The boys did a good ride and needed a donut. You gotta love the family owned donut shop. The donuts were way better then Dunkin!

Wrestle Mania AZ Style

Luke and Noah were so excited to see each other when we arrived in AZ they just started to wrestle and tackle each other. Thats what boys do when they have not seen each other for 9 months. Luke and Noah had so much fun togther. It was great to see how their different personalities balanced each other out. When the shirts came off it was called "PawPaw" style. The apple never fall far from the tree!

AZ Trip / Black Canyon Trail

WOW! The family just got back from Arizona visiting the Fry's. When we decided to go to AZ my mind started to race! Where could I ride, did I want to ship my bike, is there anyone I know that lives in AZ that rides, etc. After checking several options; packing and shipping my bike out would be the best for me. The Rig was sent out ahead of us and was waiting when we arrived.

The only person I could think of that I might contact in AZ to ride with was someone who I had never met. Reading his blog from across the country was as close as I got. About 2 weeks before we would leave I contacted Yuri through his blog (AZ Rider on my blog list) just to see if he could suggest places to ride or even get together to ride.

After several emails and some phone calls Yuri and I would meet for a ride on the Black Canyon Trail. The trail was just off the table mesa rd. exit of rt.17. As we started the ride I soon realized that the trail was really good. Singletrack all the way. Tech in some spots and fast in others. The climbs were never to long or hard. I even got to do some stream crossing. Thanks to Yuri my first "real" ride in AZ was super.

Much more to come on the big Wendler family trip!
